He was preceded by his parents, Lawrence and Ruth (nee Maze) Brooks.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Debbie (nee Dahms) Brooks of Marion, IL; two brothers, Ron (Rosemary) Brooks of Joliet, IL and John (Betty) Brooks of Cave-In-Rock, IL; and one sister, Dimple (Jim) Jeffrey of Herrin, IL.  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his two canine companions, Peaches and Pebbles, also survive.
