James Cordano

Obituary of James D. Cordano

James D. Cordano
“Jim”

“When we are born it is not known the road on which we will travel. The road called life takes us many places; some with the accolades, personal accomplishment and joy also, some roads in hind sight we should not have gone down. We are human, fallible, we love and are loved, and sometimes we fall down and can find it difficult to get up.”

On October 22, 2018 Jim Cordano passed away at the age of 52, suddenly and by all accounts peacefully at his home. He was born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet Area and Plainfield resident. He was a graduate of St. Paul the Apostle Grade School, Joliet Catholic High School and Lewis University with a Bachelors Degree in Finance. Jim was employed at Brown and Company of Morris. He was a talented and creative individual. His creative freelance writing was boundless and introspective along his artistic eye in his drawings, paintings, music, photography and graphic design. He had the gift of creating beauty in word, thought and art. One of his greatest passions and pursuits was making music. His accomplished piano, guitar and vocal skills were appreciated by those who heard him. He especially enjoyed playing guitar with several local bands.

Jim is survived by his two beloved children Mia (Jack Tran) Cordano and Griffin Cordano; his loving mother Suellen “Sue” (nee Brehn) Cordano, his devoted sister Marisue (Dr. Alex) Grabavoy; two nieces Christiana (Steve) Hertzog and Natalya Grabavoy; the loving mother of his children Stephani (nee Szabo) Cordano; and his former in-laws Laurie (Tom) McCluskey and Steven (Martha) Szabo. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded by his father, Donald L. Cordano (2015).
