"Rob"
Robert A. Horath, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 27, 2018, with his loving family at his side, after an eight month battle with cancer. He was born on November 23, 1959, the son of Larry A. and Margaret (nee Wall) Horath. He married Dedra C. Wright on February 22, 1986 in Joliet.
Rob was a lifelong Joliet resident, having graduated from Joliet East High School in 1978, and then residing in the Ingalls Park neighborhood, where he raised his family.
He was employed for 32 years in the cable-TV business and was a talented handy man. His passions included music, fishing and camping, and enjoyed spending time with his family around a good fire.
Rob is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Dedra "Dee" (nee Wright) Horath; his mother, Margaret "Marg" Horath; daughter, Tara (Adam) Kern; son, Bradley A. (Emily) Horath; brother, Brian Horath; sisters, Cathy (Chris) Brockett and Debbie Curry; and six grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded in death by his father Larry A. Horath.
Rob was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many, who will be dearly missed.
Visitation for Robert A. Horath will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the family would be appreciated.
