Obituary of Lee Schultz

Walter Lee Schultz, age 81, of Minooka, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his loving wife by his side. He was born September 5, 1937 in Dieterich, IL, the son of the late Charles and Ruby (Evans) Schultz.  Lee was formerly of Joliet and resided in Minooka, where he ran his farm for the past 47 years.  He graduated from Effingham High School and attended Joliet Junior College.  He retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1993 following 38 years of service.  Lee was a member of the National Guard, loved gardening and enjoyed making salsa that he shared with family, friends and neighbors.

Survived by his loving wife, Anita (Sandeno-Edmunds) Schultz of Minooka; loving father of David (Tina) Schultz of Crest Hill and Dr. Gary (Gina) Schultz of Camas, WA; grandfather of Ryan Schultz, Brandy (Tom) Craig, Nikki (Chris) Frost, April (Kirby) Hall and Ashley Talarico; great-grandchildren, Emily, Hailee and Eileen Hall, Kayla and Skylar Craig, Alex Carter, McKenna Frost and Brooklyn Carpenter; Loving stepfather to Ryan (Shari) Widman and Sonja Edmunds, step grandfather to Lauren and Logan Widman, Perla Joseph; sister, Shirley Robinson; brothers, Raymond (Elizabeth) Schultz and Robert (late Bertha) Schultz; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Eileen Schultz and Betty Schmidt.

Visitation for Lee Schultz will be Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 4 -8 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.  at Messiah Lutheran Church, 40 Houbolt Rd, Joliet, IL 60431. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Minooka, IL.  Memorials in his name to Messiah Lutheran Growing God’s Family Building Fund would be appreciated.
