Melanie Lynn Birmingham, age 44, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 10, 2018, surrounded by love.  Melanie was born on April 1, 1974, and was a lifelong resident of Joliet.  She was a graduate of Joliet Central High School and attended Joliet Junior College.  Melanie enjoyed listening to country music and taking trips with her family to Florida and visiting Disney.  She even took travel classes with “Magical Memories”, a program offered through Walt Disney. 

Melanie was a gentle soul who truly cared about those around her. She always held a positive outlook and was seldom seen without a smile on her face.  Her hardworking and energetic nature shined through in her position as an Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, and while she was a consultant with Scentsy.  But her most rewarding job was being a loving mother to her sons and a devoted wife.  Her presence will be greatly missed by everyone that she knew.

Melanie is survived by her devoted husband of 14 years, Mark Birmingham; her loving sons, Johnathan Berg and Corey Berg; two brothers, Albert (Brenda) Berg and Daniel (Julie) Berg; one sister, Carrie (Tony) Minor; and grandchildren, Bella Mae Berg and Parker Edward Berg.  She was also an aunt to Shelly Berg, Sarah Berg, William Berg, Justin Minor, Katie Minor and Siera Berg.

She is preceded in death by her mother and step father, Billie and Edward Maske.

A Memorial Gathering for Melanie Lynn Birmingham will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C.
