Obituary of Betty J. Panish
Betty J. (Haldorson) Panish, age 91, of Morris, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Betty was born in Joliet, the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (nee Howard) Haldorson and a resident of Morris since the age of 18. She was a graduate of Coal City High School, Class of 1945. Betty married Joseph A. Panish on December 28, 1946 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. Betty was passionate about bingo, the Chicago Bears, fishing and loved riding around Morris.
Survived by her daughter, Barbara (Richard) Darin of Morris; her grandson, Bobby Tondini of Morris; great-grandson, Bobby Joe Tondini and his mother, Mandy Keating of Morris; sisters, Alice Wills, Lucille Quayle, and June Hedgecock, all of Coal City; her brother, Ralph (Lela) Haldorson of Wilmington; sisters in-law, Betty Haldorson, Phyllis Haldorson, and Margaret Haldorson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her husband, Joseph A. Panish (2005); her parents; sisters, Elsie (Joe) Skubic and Helen (Harold) Jensen; brothers, Howard Haldorson (in infancy), Charles, Raymond, John, Robert (Genevieve), Clyde and George Haldorson; brothers in-law; Elmer Wills, Royce Quayle, and LeRoy Hedgecock.
Visitation for Betty J. Panish will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12 p.m. Noon at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris. Fr. Ed Howe will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Morris. Serving as Pall Bearers will be her grandsons and godsons, Bobby Tondini, Bobby Joe Tondini, Tom Wills, Ken Jensen, Kevin Haldorson and Jerry Tondini. Memorials in her name to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 E. Jackson Street, Morris, IL 60450, would be appreciated.
