Georgina Marie Hunter

Georgina Marie (nee Svetlecich) Hunter, age 56, of Plainfield, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.  She died peacefully at her home with her husband and children by her side.  Born on December 3, 1962, Georgina is survived by her husband of 36 years, Brian J. Hunter Sr.; daughter, Amber “Chick” Marie (Tom) Lancaster, III; son, Brian J. (Kate) Hunter; grandmother “Gigi” to Tommy IV and Elfriede Lancaster; daughter to John R. Svetlecich, II; and sister to Terri (Mike) Hill and Richard Svetlecich.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.  She was preceded in death by brother, John R. Svetlecich, III and her mother, Elfriede Svetlecich. 

Georgina was strong, caring, and loved life.  She enjoyed remodeling, decorating, fishing, traveling, gardening, and landscaping.  Georgina loved summer and fall and spending time with her family outdoors.  She loved taking pictures of old barns and homes and was known for the annual Halloween House craft sale.  A remarkable artist, Georgina could paint or craft anything and passed along her talents to her daughter.  Collecting antiques was one of her passions.  Georgina loved spending every possible moment with her grandchildren.

Missed, but never forgotten, her spirit will live on in her artwork and her smile.  The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Ellen Gustafson.  In accordance with Georgina’s wishes, family services were held privately.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Georgina’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.  Fred C.
