Susan Horton Howard

Susan Marie Horton Howard, age 67, a lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.

Born July 30, 1951 in Joliet, she was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Glynn) Specht, and was a graduate of St. Francis Academy.

Susan loved her children and family and thought of all her friends as family as well.  She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.

Surviving are her devoted son, Billy Jack “BJ”  Horton of Joliet; one brother, Mike (Kim) Specht; two sisters, Sharon (Tom) Whalen and Sheila (the late Jim) Carey; a sister-in-law, Debbie Specht; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert D. “Robbi” Horton; her parents; and one brother, Greg Specht.

Visitation for Susan will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Joliet.
