Ava, I am so sorry about Jim. After we connected on Facebook, I thought we might see each other again some day but it was not to be. While we were cousins, Jim always lived far away so we seldom got together and since I am 5 years older we didn't have a lot in common when we were young. Other than Karen, I don't know if you knew any members of Jim's family but Shapards were always a close family and a lot alike so in some ways it is as if we have always been friends and together. It is apparent that Jim had a good life, a good wife and many good friends. That is a lot to be thankful for and is the definition of a life well lived.

Dear Ava,
I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband Jim. What a courageous battle he fought, with you supporting and loving him all the way. I always loved hearing about your adventures together over the years, especially the trips including the diving he so enjoyed. I hope all of your precious memories will be a source of comfort in the future.
Take care Ava,
Trish Phillips
