Obituary of Anthony T. Ortiz

Anthony T. Ortiz, age 79, at rest Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.  He was born in Ottawa, IL, the son of the late Benito and Juana Ortiz.  Anthony has been a resident of Morris since 1973.  Graduate of Marquette Academy, Ottawa, IL class of 1958.  He is a retired optician with Ortiz Eye and Hearing Associates in Morris, IL. Anthony was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survived by his three sons, Brett (Sire) Ortiz of Morris, Chris Ortiz of Morris and Craig Ortiz of Morris; his grandchildren, Dustin and Leah Ortiz of Morris; daughter in-law, Monica Ortiz of Aurora; two brothers, Phillip Ortiz of Morris and David Ortiz of Ottawa; sisters in-law, Margaret Ortiz of Seattle, WA and Judith Ortiz of Ottawa and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Anthony is preceded by his loving wife, Mary Pat Ortiz (2014); one son, Scott Ortiz; two brothers, Richard and Daniel Ortiz and one sister, Mary Perez.

Funeral services for Anthony T. Ortiz will be Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris.  Private interment will be at Mt.
