Gaetano “Guy” Campobasso
Gaetano “Guy” Campobasso, age 58, of Shorewood, passed away suddenly while vacationing with his wife in the Dominican Republic, on Sunday, February 17, 2019.
He was born July 11, 1960 in Italy, and grew up in Illinois. Gaetano was known for his love of his family, music, and traveling. He was the admired and loved General Manager at D’Arcy Hyundai in Joliet, where he built a reputation as a leader and a friend to many in the community.
Gaetano is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Tina Campobasso; three loving children, Lisamarie (Sergio) Giangrande, Antonia (David) Castillo and Michael Vito (Arielle) Campobasso; proud and loving grandfather to his five grandchildren, Gabriella Rose, Giulia Tina, Dominic Gaetano, Leonardo Michael, and Daniella Santina; he was a loving son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many loved ones.
Visitation for Gaetano Campobasso will be held Monday, February 25, 2019, from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at 9:15 a.m., from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S Route 59, Plainfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum 1212, 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines.
