One of my all time favorites! I hadn’t seen him in years - but quote him often. He had a way of expressing his views that left an indelible impression. The world is a bit less colorful now.

What a great fun loving family man. He will be missed not only by his family, but by many many people who were lucky enough to call him a friend. Prayers from Rose and I for him and his family.

I will always remember Howard as a man of his word and he expected the same. His bark was much worse than his bite. He was a generous soul as a child growing up at the lake in Braidwood Howard would let me use his fishing gear. One day he came to me and handed me a new fishing pole This was the Howie I knew. I will always remember his fish fries and The many pig roasts. Howie always liked a good party! My condolences to the many people who will miss the Chief.

Such great sadness to lose a man I admired and loved to be with for hunting, traveling and sharing the same sense of humor. Howie was a very generous man and a joy to be with. He can't be replaced. I can only enjoy the plesant memories we shared. My sincere condolences to all who knew him.
