Carolyn E. Grindstaff, age 81, of Joliet, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019.  She was born in Little Rock, AR, residing in Joliet for over 40 years.  Carolyn was a social butterfly.  She knew everyone in the neighborhood, and her front porch was home to the coffee klatchers.  Carolyn was known as "Granny" to all.  

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Elaine (Michael) Gregory of Largo, FL and Donna (Deborah Fisher) Grindstaff of Joliet; grandchildren, Lynnese (Chad) Logan, Aaron McCarthy, and Brianna Peltola; great grandchildren, C.J. Logan, Alexis Logan, Noah Logan, Aiden Peltola, Benjamin McCarthy and Aubrey Peltola; and siblings, Rudy Fenton, Ronnie Fenton, Lola Love, Charlsie Reedy and Shirley Roberts.

She was preceded by her husband, Frank Grindstaff, Sr. (2006); her son, Frank Grindstaff, Jr. (2005); one grandson, Matthew Peltola; and siblings, Robert Fenton, James Fenton, John Fenton and Tommy Fenton.

Visitation for Carolyn Grindstaff will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 black at Essington Roads, Joliet.  Graveside services and interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.  Pastor Hans Fiene will officiate.
