Martin Teno Ferro
Age 85. Passed away peacefully, Monday, October 27, 2008 at his late residence with his family at his side. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet and Troy area resident. A United States WWII Army Veteran. Retired from Troy School District #30-C as a bus contractor and driver. Former owner and operator of Ferro Bus Service. A member of Stone City Post #2199. A member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Barney Ferro and Rosa Ferro Donna; his stepfather, Charles Donna; his in-laws, Louis Carra and Corrine Norman and stepfather Earl Norman; sister, Lena Garbin; and brother-in-law, Ray Carra.
Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Gloria (nee Carra) Ferro of Troy Township; one daughter, Nancy (Ron) Sulzer of Plainfield; two sons, David (Fran) Ferro of Channahon and Bernie (Ellen) Ferro of Wilmington; one grandson, Aaron (Mayme, fianceeĢ) Studer; one brother, Raymond (Darlene) Ferro of Joliet; brother-in-law, Gerald (Mary Alice) Norman of Morris; sister-in-law, Jean (late Ray) Carra of Joliet, numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
The Ferro family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Joliet Area Community Hospice and the 7th floor of Provena St. Joseph Medical Center for their excellent care and compassion.
Funeral services for Martin Teno Ferro will be Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Teno's name can be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Leukemia Association. Visitation Thursday, October 30, from 3-8 p.m. at:
