Obituary of Lois Filas

Lois C. Filas (nee Carroll) Age 87. Peacefully, Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Sunrise of Glen Ellyn. Born in Joliet, she was a lifelong area resident. A graduate of Joliet Township High School. Retired as the office manager of Diamond Construction after over 20 years of service. A charter member of the Women in Construction, where she held a number of offices. Preceded in death by her husband, John J. "Jay" Filas (1977); her parents, Howard and Elsie Carroll. Survived by four daughters, Carroll Madison of Carol Stream, IL, Mary Ellen (Greg) Webb of Glen Ellyn, Barbara (Ken) Kleckner of Minneapolis, MN and Janet (Ronnie) Klover of Joliet; two sons, John (Cindy) Filas of Wilmington and Robert (Sherry) Filas of Crest Hill 16 grandchildren, Brian (Raquel) Madison, Allison (Ben) DeMong; Erin and Emily Webb; Sarah, Alex, Andy and Bradley Kleckner; Casey and Jeff Klover; Joel (Angela) and Kate Filas; Angela (Rick) Wyers, Allison Wolf, Jay and Robert Filas; two great-grandchildren, Elina and Reese; two sisters, Marilyn (Robert) Suffern and Joyce (Dr. Lawrence) Hollatz; two brothers, Howard (Peggy) Carroll, Jr. and Ray (Mary Kay) Carroll; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Lois C. Filas will be Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Adopt-A-Child Fund at St. Patrick Catholic Church in her name would be appreciated.
