Dear Leigh-leigh, Susie and Ricky:
I was shocked to read of your Mom's sudden death. It must be a real shock to you, too. I think of your family often. Even though you only lived in Youngstown (Austintown) a few years, your Mom and I became good friends. We got together every day for coffee and cigarettes, discussing everything from politics, religion to our growing up years. I loved her stories about Italy, especially the one about her grandmother dying and being laid out in the "parlor." She was afraid to go past her body, so she climbed out the bedroom window and down a tree to get out of the house. When your Mom decided to become a citizen, I helped her study, and became her sponsor . It was such an honor. I remember how we were into Watergate, and watched the proceedings for hours. She was very smart, and always curious about everything.I remember when the theory was published that the earth was all one land mass that separated over millions of years , we got out a world map and pieced together all the continents and mountain ranges to see for ourselves. We were brownie leaders together when Cindy and Susie were in first and second grade. Seeing her Facebook page, it looks like she had a full life, filled with love. That's what we wish for the people we love, and I loved her.
