Obituary of Lisa C. DePatie
Lisa C. DePatie, age 46, of Joliet, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, September 6, 2019.
Lisa was born June 15, 1973 in Hinsdale, IL, and was a graduate of Naperville North High School where she was active in the school newspaper. She continued her education at Northern Illinois University studying education with the goal of becoming a teacher. She also received an Associate’s Degree from Waubonsee Community College.
Lisa and John were married in 1998, and had two children, Hannah and Hunter. Her family was the love of her life, along with Winter and Sadie, their cats. Her heart was so enormous for everyone around her.
A gifted writer and terrific communicator, she applied her entrepreneurial spirit in a number of capacities. She was especially proud of her employment with Strouds-The Linen Experts where she attained a management position and made many lasting friendships. She will also be remembered for her employment with Tong Inn.
Surviving are her husband, John P. DePatie of Joliet; two children, Hannah (16) and Hunter (10); her parents, Donald J. and Connie S. (nee Wohlfeil) Luechtefeld of Destin, FL; two sisters, Laura (William) Avery of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Lynette (Jason) Moriak of Tallahassee, FL; one brother, Sean (Nicole) Luechtefeld of Arlington, VA; two nephews, Joseph (Maribel) Avery and Shane Moriak; her husband’s mother, Marybeth Marshall; her husband’s step-father, Steven Kokines; aunts and uncles, Debra Wohlfeil, John Luechtefeld, Joseph Luechtefeld and Ann Marie Hoffman; and many cousins.
Visitation for Lisa DePatie will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, where funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m.
Cremation rites will be accorded following services and entombment in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Hillside, will be private.
