Obituary of Angela Santiago

Angela Gonzalez Santiago, age 86, currently of Plainfield, IL and formerly of Chicago and Logansport, IN, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 13, 2019 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home, Joliet, IL with her loving family by her side.

Born January 30, 1933 in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Matilde and Regalada (Rodriguez) Gonzales.  She married the love of her life, Miguel Angel Santiago, and he preceded her in death December 28, 2009.

Angela was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who had a big heart and loved her family more than anything in the world.  She was a good and loving person, willing to help anyone in need, and was also funny and had a wonderful sense of humor.  Angela loved to dance and was a devoted fan of her soap operas.  She will be remembered for her sense of fashion, her love of bold and bright colors, and for being a terrific storyteller whose stories her family never grew tired of hearing again and again.

Surviving are her 13 children, Jorge Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Carmen Bracero, Angel Luis Bracero, the late Francisca Diaz, Ruben Diaz, Carmen Diaz, Migdalia Diaz, Miguel Diaz, Maria Diaz, Angela Santiago, Jose Santiago, and Minerva Santiago; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Angela Santiago will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Plainfield Township Cemetery, Plainfield, IL.
