Obituary of Herman T. Staford

Herman T. Staford

At the age of 79, Herman Staford passed away suddenly as the result of complications of chronic respiratory failure at AMITA Health Holy Family Medical Center, on Monday, September 23, 2019.  He was born in Benton Harbor, MI, and has been a Joliet area resident for the past 45 years.  Herman was a proud U.S. Army Veteran.  Retired from J & R Security after many years of service and was formerly employed with General Motors Fisher Body Plant until the plant closed.

Herman was a gaming enthusiast; his best days were spending time on the boat with his wife.  He also enjoyed antiquing, looking for that rare find.  Nothing however trumped spending time with his family and he was a dedicated family man.

He was preceded by his beloved daughter, Diane Stafford (1999); his parents; and one brother.

Herman is survived by his loving daughter, Paula Staford of Joliet; his loving son, Christopher Staford of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Anthony and Allyson (Austin Knight) Staford both of Joliet and John Staford of Plainfield; one great grandchild, Maxwell Staford; and one sister, Shirley Staford of Las Vegas.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
