Obituary of Gerald W. Nowak
Gerald W. “Jerry” Nowak, age 77, of Joliet, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.
Born September 16, 1942 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Jean M. (nee Lisek) Nowak. He enjoyed his career as a Dock Spotter with Teamsters Local #710. Jerry loved fishing, old cars and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda L. (nee Spry) Nowak of Joliet; one son, Dennis (Patricia) Nowak of Joliet; one daughter, Denise (Ray) O’Donnell of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Kayla, Ray Jr. and Makena O’Donnell; one sister, Sandra (“Hutch”) Hutchinson of Franklin Park; and his best friend, Stan Lubek of Burbank.
A Memorial Gathering for Jerry Nowak will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private.
