Obituary of Mildred Foster

Mildred S. Foster nee Schwab Age 88, passed away peacefully, Tuesday July 5, 2011. Born August 13, 1922 to the late Joseph and Amelia (nee Plese) Schwab, she was a lifetime Joliet resident. A graduate of Joliet Township High School, Class of 1939. Beloved mother of James J. (Barbara) Foster of CA, Jeanne (Leslie) Lindholm of Joliet and Katherine (Paul) Sewing of Channahon. Loving grandmother of Daniel (Rachel), Andrew, Ryan and Kelly Foster all of CA; Erik Lindholm, Katherine (Robert) Hubbard all of Joliet, David (fiancee Amanda Gutierrez) Lindholm of New Lenox; Colleen and Connor Sewing of Channahon. Proud great grandmother of Danielle and James Wyatt of Joliet. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her husband James D. Foster; her parents; one brother, Joseph (late Helen) Schwab and one sister Lucille (late John) Bagnell. Millie, a retired stenographer from the E J & E Railway, was a former member of the Paulites of St. Paul the Apostle Church, a past member of the Mothers Club of Joliet Catholic High and Band Parent Association member of JCHS-SFA. She also enjoyed volunteering in the gift shop of St. Joseph Hospital as a member of the Auxiliary and also being a former member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral services for Mildred S. Foster will be held at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Avenue, Joliet, where visitation will occur Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Friday, July 8, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Memorials in her name to the American Heart Association would be appreciated. Arrangements by: FRED C.
