Obituary of Thomas J. Simon
Thomas J. Simon, age 71, of Godley, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, with his family by his side.
He was born June 28, 1948 in Evergreen Park, IL to the late John I. and Mary Ernestine (Kisner) Simon. He was a veteran of the National Guard and the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science degree and worked as an electrical engineer and in management for Illinois Bell, and later Ameritech, and A. T. & T.
Tom loved history, the White Sox, fishing, and cars and trains.
Surviving are his three daughters, Carolyn (Ian) Bayne of Nevada, Cathryn (Jeremy) Hanson of Morris, and Rebbecca (Richard, Jr.) Snyder of Minooka; four grandsons, Ryland and Roenick Snyder, and Kane and Jeremy A. Hanson; two brothers, John (June) Simon, III of Tinley Park, and Peter Simon of Chicago; and five nieces.
Visitation for Thomas Simon will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 (at Deerpath Drive), Morris.
Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment will be in Paris, Mississippi at a later date.
