Bertha E. Frantz
(nee Gibson)
Age 83. Passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Silver Cross Hospital. A longtime resident of Mokena, she was a statistical bookkeeper for Spiegel, Inc. for over 30 years. An avid bowler and camper. She was a loving, caring and giving person, who will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by one son, Carl R. (Shirley) Frantz, Jr. of Joliet; two daughters, Carol R. Alkire of Joliet and Joanne S. (Ben Gercone) Frantz of Lockport; eight grandchildren, Beth Ann Alkire, Henry Paul (Tracy) Mossell, Jr., Kelly Anne (David) Hepler, Erik Todd (Michelle) Mossell, Eric M. (Diana) Rodriguez, Jennifer M. Rodriguez, Sarah Elizabeth Wegler and Carl Ryan Frantz; 13 great-grandchildren, Gordon, Erika, Eric, Ashley, Hayley, Kelsey, Henry III, Kody, Jonathon, Joei, Mason, Taylor and Luke; two sisters, Evanis (late Anthony) Dina and Claire (late Henry) Schumann; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine (late Charles) Frantz and Victoria (late George, Jr.) Gibson;one brother-in-law, Donald (late Celine) McCauley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Frantz, Sr. (1986); parents, George D., Sr. and Sarah Ann (nee Moore) Gibson; four brothers; four sisters and one great-granddaughter, Lillian Mossell.
Funeral Services for Bertha E. Frantz will be Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Rodney Juell officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South in Worth, IL. Memorials in her name to the Joliet Chapter Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association would be appreciated. Visitation Monday 2-8 p.m. at:
