Obituary of Darlene Carol Larson

Darlene Van Meter Larson, (nee Fredericks), age 80, of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2020, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, surrounded by her loving family.  

Darlene was born December 10, 1939, in Joliet, the daughter of the late Ernest and Emily (nee Dumke) Fredericks, and was a graduate of Joliet Township Central  High School.  She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was her greatest joy.  She loved having an active role in helping take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also liked to crochet.

Darlene is survived by her five children, Ken Van Meter, Jr., Karl (Lisa) Van Meter, Leanna Cox, Pamela (Robert) Jones, and Peggy (Patrick) Boris; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one brother, Ronnie (Shirley) Fredericks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Van Meter, and her parents.

Graveside Services for Darlene Larson will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
