Obituary of Jeffrey Scott Schroll
Jeffrey Scott Schroll, age 61, of Elwood the past 24 years, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Jeff was born February 25, 1959 in Joliet, and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and attended DeVry University. Jeff worked as a Manual Machinist for 35 years, and later as a delivery truck driver for Granby’s Greenhouse in Verona, IL.
His strong Christian faith led him to become the founder and active member of The Way, The Truth, and The Life Christian Fellowship. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, working in his yard, and playing cards, pool and golf with his family.
Survived by his wife, Lisa Schroll of Elwood, IL; sons, Jonathan Schroll of Sanford, NC, and Steven Schroll of Elwood, IL; his parents, Elmer “Skip” and Sandra (Riebe) Schroll of Wilmington, IL; brothers, Timothy (Denise) Schroll of Lockport, IL, Todd (Rosie) Schroll of Wilmington, IL; sister, Susan (Dave) Filos of Murrieta, CA; his Godmother and Aunt, Arla “Auntie Em” Knudsen and Uncle, Greg Riebe; and other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Also surviving is his childhood friend, Mark (Peggy) Clark of Joliet, IL.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lindsey Schroll; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Riebe and maternal grandfather, Jack Riebe, Sr., paternal grandfather, Melvin Schroll, paternal grandmother, Olive Schroll, and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, and to all the Doctors and staff who cared for Jeff during the past few years.
Funeral services for Jeffrey Schroll will be private. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
