Obituary of Gilberta Torres

Age 81, of Joliet, IL passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning May 3, 2020.  She was born March 8, 1939, in Mexico to the late Ventura (Lopez) and Hilario Torres.  Soon after she married Irineo Jacobo, they immigrated to the United States and settled in Joliet where they raised their family.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Irineo; children, Juan Jacobo, Laura (Arturo) Perez, Reyna (Francisco) Robles, Fresvinda Jacobo, Maria (Miguel) Guzman, Dagoberto “Jose” (Dinorah) Jacobo; eighteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Private services will be held for Gilberta’s family on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, Romeoville.
