Obituary of Anna M. Riesterer
Anna Marie Riesterer, nee Cusumano, age 89, late of Shorewood and Minooka, and a former 30 year resident of Arkansas during retirement, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the home of her daughter.
Born February 22, 1931 in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Eleanor (DeStefano) Cusumano. She married Richard H. Riesterer and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2007 after 59 years of marriage. One daughter, Barbara (Gerald) Fricot, and two brothers, John (Trudy) Cusumano and Anthony (Dolores) Cusumano also preceded her in death.
Anna and Richard met while working for the former Farm Crest Bakery, and continued to work side by side there, at Burny Brothers Bakery, and finally at Entenmann’s Bakery.
Anna was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Nana, and Nana-G. She was a hard worker and never said no to anyone who needed her help. She will be remembered for her strength and stamina and her ever-present smile. Her positive attitude will always be an example for her family.
Surviving are her children, Anna (John) Pastorello, Laura (Frank) Pastorello, Arthur (Lisa) Riesterer, Richard (Ruth) Riesterer, Jr. and JoAnne VanSky; eleven grandchildren, Anna Marie (Oscar) Elizarraraz, Joey Pastorello, Lauren, Nichole and Charlie Pastorello, David (Anna) Simpson, Danny Simpson, Artie Riesterer, Robert (Amanda) Riesterer, Gina Riesterer, Lisa (Joe) Cruz, and Jerry and Randy Fricot; and seven great-grandchildren, Aria and Antonio Elizarraraz, Danny and Natalie Simpson, Caden and Phoenix Ayres, Damen Cruz, and Chloe and Michael Fricot.
Funeral services for Anna Riesterer will be private and burial will be in Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
