Obituary of Lidia L. Luna

Lidia L. Luna, age 93, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County.

Born September 3, 1926 in San Benito, TX, she was the daughter of Pedro Leal and Valentina Rodriguez.

Lidia was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.   She was a member of the Joliet Spanish Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, and generously shared her bible hope.  Having never learned to drive, she will be remembered by many for always walking everywhere.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Graciella (Ricardo) Ramirez of Joliet; her son, Eugene (Virginia) Luna of Joliet; and ten grandchildren.  Her legacy will also live on in the lives of her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  One sister, Carmen Johgma of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Lidia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugenio Luna (1984); two sons, Eloy Luna and Eliazar Luna; two sisters; and one brother.

The family would like to thank everyone at Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Joliet Area Community Hospice for the loving care provided Lidia.

Visitation and funeral services for Lidia Luna will be private, however, her family has requested to live stream the services for Lidia on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 8:00 p.m.  Please click on this link https://youtu.be/i0-Kwf2wPOM and follow the instructions to show your support for them at a time when you cannot be physically present, but your thoughts, prayers and connection are.

Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.
