Obituary of Fr. Daniel T. McCullough
Age 73, late of Bloomington, IL and formerly Plainfield, IL passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020. He was born September 27, 1946 to the late Ethel and late John McCullough in Chicago, IL. where he was raised. He graduated from Devine Heart Seminary Donaldson, IN. in 1965.
Rev. McCullough was ordained a Catholic Priest on September 1, 1973 and served in a variety of ministries for over 36 years. His work included Pastor assignments in Illinois and Mississippi. He was a fundraising director for the benefit of missions, education of seminarians and retired priests. Appointed Chaplain of Catholic Charities (CRS) in 1998, he served the poor in over 80 countries. He traveled extensively during his priesthood. His work with SNAP addressing solutions to the scandal of clerical abuse was most meaningful to him.
Survivors include his brothers, John (late Cheryl), the late Thomas (Marianne), Patrick, James, Michael (Mary Pat), and Joseph (Sheila), many beloved and cherished nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and godchildren.
Fr. McCullough’s wish was services and interment be private. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
