Obituary of Cheryl Rose Donchez
Age 63, of Joliet, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the strongest and bravest woman in the world. Cheryl was born and raised in Chicago before relocating to Joliet in 2002. She graduated from Curie High School in Chicago and was later employed by Vitas Hospice. Cheryl was a music enthusiast and loved going to the casino in her spare time. She enjoyed watching her favorite Games Shows and also dedicated her time to gardening.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, James Donchez of Joliet; two children, Kimberly (John) Deavers and James Donchez Jr., both of Joliet; six grandchildren, Cheryl Krugler, Frank Krugler Jr., Nicholas Krugler, Gianna Deavers, John Deavers Jr, and Brooklynn Deavers; her mother, Agnes Keehner; brother, Ron (Patricia) Gunia of Florida; two sisters, Gail Holder and Lynn (Bob) Lochner, both of Iowa; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including her best friend Jim Slone, and her canine companion, Marley, also survive.
Preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Gunia.
Visitation for Cheryl Rose Donchez will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, with Funeral Services at 7:00 p.m. Facemasks and social distancing will be observed. As it was Cheryl’s wish, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
