Obituary of Sergio A. Carlos
Age 53, of Shorewood, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 17, 2020, at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. in 1974. Sergio graduated from Benito Juarez High School in Chicago and has resided in Shorewood since 2016. He continued his education and became a self-employed Engineer.
Sergio loved to travel, music, take in a good movie and especially loved spending time with his family. He was a very giving person who always sacrificed himself for the well being of others, no matter the sacrifice, cost, or challenge.
He is a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Sergio was the best dad his kids could have ever asked for.
Survived by his wife, Silvia Martinez; two daughters, Angelica Rivas and Ashley D. Carlos; his son, Anthony A. Martinez; his mother, Maria Graciela (nee Herrera) Carlos; ten siblings, Sandra P. Carlos, Graciela Carlos, Lorena Johnson, Adriana Morales, Miguel A. Carlos, Brenda C. Gonzales, George Carlos, Eva M. Cruz, Elizabeth Carlos, and Paul Carlos; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation for Sergio A. Carlos will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with Funeral Services at 5:30 p.m. Face masks are required and social distancing will be encouraged. Interment will be held privately by the family.
