Obituary of Matthew Futterer

Futterer, Matthew James Age 86, a lifetime Joliet area resident, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011, with his family at his side, at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1925 to the late Loretta (nee Reilly) and Albert Futterer at the "old" St. Joseph Hospital on Broadway Street. He most recently had been residing at Senior Star at Weber Place. Beloved husband of nearly 60 years to Peggy "Sheba" (nee Scully) Futterer; Loving father of Susie (Paul) Loscheider, Nancy (John) Fulara, Jr., Lynda (William) Ford and Patrick (Debra, nee Keigher) Futterer. Dearest grandfather of Eric (Molly), Brian (Maritza) and Scott (fiance Emily) Loscheider; Colleen (Michael) Saccotelli, Katie Fulara, Christine (fiancee David), and Kerry Fulara; Rebecca (Aaron) Johnson, Jennifer (Brett) Houser; and Zachary Futterer. Proud great grandfather of Enzo Saccotelli, Chase and Dillon Johnson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Matt retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. Inc. after 30 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home for 12 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Joliet Elks Lodge #296. He also enjoyed golfing. Funeral services for Matthew J. Futterer will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011, 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
