Obituary of Maynard Gagliardo
Maynard James Gagliardo
Age 78. Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born November 17, 1929 in Coal City, IL. Member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Joliet and the Senior Groups.
Maynard, a spiritual soul, will fondly be remembered as a strong, yet
gentle man who was patriotic. He was also a world traveler and an avid sports fan who enjoyed fine dining.
Preceded in death by his parents Joseph (Ginger) Gagliardo and Bertha (nee Lazier) Gagliardo; his in-laws, Michael E. Strainer and Ann Marie (nee Grahovac) Strainer; a stepson, Mark Joseph Busanelli and a great niece, Gina Boresi.
Survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Strainer) Gagliardo; his stepchildren, Judy (Craig) Cynor of Boca Raton, FL., Christine (Robert) Traversa of Plainfield and Roseann (fiance, John Hicks)Tucker of Braidwood; six grandchildren, Karlie and Ryhlie Traversa; Rachel and Emma Cynor; Mark Tucker and Lillian Rose Hicks; one brother, Marvin (Cleo) Gagliardo of Coal City; one sister, Delores (late Leslie) Hertenstein of Coal City; four nieces, Susan Boresi, Debra Condotti, Patricia Davis and Sherrie Taylor. Numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins as well as his aunt Eleanore Gagliardo also survive.
Maynard's family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs of Deerbrook Care Centre, Provena St. Joseph Medical Center and the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home for their compassionate care.
All friends and relatives are invited to meet Tuesday September 2, 2008, 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough St., Joliet, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated. Arrangements by:
