Obituary of Cathy Griffin
Age 62, of Joliet, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center. She was born on October 31, 1957, in Joliet, to Adalaide and Delbert Holm.
Cathy worked at the Will County Courthouse as a Deputy Minute Clerk. She served with many distinguished judges and considered many past and present Joliet attorneys, bailiffs, and staff members to be her close friends.
Cathy loved spending time with her friends. A lifelong childhood friend, Lynn Pisha Reyes, reflected that Cathy loved to hear her play piano and enjoyed having tea together. Her favorite songs were “Moon River” and “How Great Thou Art”.
Cathy was a giving, sweet soul; she was silly, lighthearted, and fun. The world needs more people like Cathy, who was so giving with a generous heart. Take time to laugh, dance, and listen to music. Spend simple time with the ones you love.
Cathy is survived by her mother, Adalaide Holm; her sons, Steven and Robert Perry; granddaughter, Lillian Marie Del Sasso; her loving boyfriend, Richard Kelly; best friend, Arianna “Annie” Fleckenstein; and her niece, Carson L. Fleckenstein.
Annie would like to reflect, they were closer than sisters. There was not a day in 10 years that they had not spoken. They texted in the morning and evening, talked about supper plans, and had BFF talk on Fridays. They met once a month to go out to eat and never missed a birthday celebration for each other. “I miss you so much and you were my one and only best friend. BFF for life.”
Most importantly, Cathy would want everyone to know that she believed in God and Jesus. She loved God and Jesus. She knew when God called her home; she would go to Him in heaven.
At this time, no services will be held due to COVID-19.
