Obituary of Matthew R. Bender

Age 35, of Shorewood, Illinois formerly of Palos Park, passed away from complications of his spina bifida on September 24th, 2020.

He is survived by his loving parents, Sharon and Roman; his sisters, Molly Bender and Kristen Beth (Alan) Offenbecher; his nephew, Samuel, and his niece, Zoe.

Matt enjoyed wheelchair basketball, choir, and traveling. He loved his Weber Grill and preparing meals for his family.

The family will hold a private ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Matthew’s name to either the Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Illinois Spina Bifida Association.
