Congetta E. (Dumovic) Kustra
"Connie"
(nee Ciancanelli)
Congetta E. Kustra, age 94, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home, on Monday, September 28, 2020, surrounded by love. She was born in Joliet on July 2, 1926, to the late Nazzareno and Jennie (nee Gentila) Ciancanelli. Connie was a talented beautician who had the privilege of working side by side with her sister, Rose, for many years at the salon that she owned, “Rose’s Beauty Shop”. When she wasn’t making her clients feel and look their best, she enjoyed staying active playing golf, going bowling, dancing, and traveling with her husband. Connie was a parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill and was a resident of the Timbers for several years where she made numerous friends and enjoyed participating in all of the activities that they offered. She was a member of their Walking Club and Bowling Club. Connie also was proud of the blankets that she crocheted for those in need. As busy as she stayed, her most memorable time was that she spent with her family.
Connie is survived by three children, Dr. Joseph (Katherine) Dumovic of Seattle, WA, Kathleen (Ken) Kendrick of Oswego, and Fredrick Dumovic of Crest Hill; and stepson, Robert (Joyce) Kustra of Elburn. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
She is preceded in death by her first husband of 14 years, Joseph L. Dumovic; her second husband of 47 years, Julius J. Kustra; stepchildren, Kevin Kustra and Constance Kustra; four sisters, Lea Ciancanelli, Rose Kambic Guardia, Palma Waloszyk, and Edith Lolli; and one brother, Paul Ciancanelli.
