Obituary of Maureen Ann Babcock

Maureen Ann Babcock, age 73, lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away September 28, 2020 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center Joliet.

Born November 27, 1946 in Joliet, she was the daughter Alfred Patrick and Elsie Jacqueline (Bullen) Dagon.  She was a homemaker while raising her family and later worked as a secretary for Joliet Township.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she always made time for her family, and her grandchildren were the light of her life.  Maureen loved to cook and generously shared her cooking talents with family and friends.  Family gatherings will never be the same without her.

Surviving are her three children, Stacie (Michael) Hobbs of Joliet, James (Pamela) Babcock of Joliet, and Mark (Amanda) Babcock of Phoenix, AZ; ten precious grandchildren, Amber (Patrick) Carlin, Neill Babcock, John (Emily) Morris, Jacob (fiance Mike) Morris, Brendan Babcock, Rylan Babcock, Lucas Hobbs, Madelyn Hobbs, Addison Babcock and Gordon Babcock; three great-grandchildren, Makenna, Sean and Liam Carlin; one sister, Carrolyne (Jerry) Adam; one brother, Michael (Jill) Dagon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Patrick Dagon.

Services for Maureen Babcock will be private.  Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet, is in charge of arrangements.
