Please accept my sympathy on my family's behalf and on behalf of the many Andy's Shoe Repair customers. Andy and Bob were the heart of Joliet. You're irreplaceable - a true treasure. Your service, workmanship and sincere way with customers were the best. God bless your family.

Bobby will truly be missed. He was a wonderful, kind man, who always made me smile. I met him when I tended bar and he would stop in for a beer after work. We always ended up chatting. He told me about his business and I quickly became a customer of Andy's. He taught me the value of taking care of quality shoes/leather and I brought my son in to meet him and talk to him so that he could learn from the best. Bobby always made me smile, and it was a pleasure to know him. Bobby was one of those rare people that gave of themselves for the joy of it, and I always enjoyed seeing him and visiting his shop. Bobby, you are in my prayers and in my heart. My most sincere condolences to his family. Bobby, you will be missed, and I know there is a special place in heaven for kind and caring people like you. All my love, Susan Erickson and Chris Erickson

I worked in the Administration with the Joliet Fire Department from 2009-2017 and had the pleasure to work with Bob in that time. There was not one thing we brought to him that he could not fix. And when he was done with it - it was in better shape than when it was brand new!! A true craftsman in his field. My condolences to the family.

Shoeman Bob, you are going to be sorely missed. I have missed you coming to the Crows Nest and is having our Monday Night Movies and watching FX on Wednesday night. Or the one time you tried to fix my Chucks and told me I’m too hard on my shoes. I’ll miss your laugh and your stories. You were a wonderful human and I am lucky I got to meet you in this lifetime. Godspeed my friend.

Rest in peace, Bob. Oh the memories we have of you and your family. Those were special times along the river. How time has flown. The Cushman scooter and all.
