Obituary of Gerald F. Ruder
Age 86 of Morris, IL, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020, at the home of his son. He was born in Essex, IL, the son of the late Oscar and Mary (Halpin) Ruder, a former resident of Kankakee. Jerry graduated from Joliet Catholic High School with the Class of 1952. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. Jerry retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1995 following over 31 years of service. Faith in his church was a very important part of his life. He loved the outdoors, gardening, and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Denita (Hayes) Ruder; his five children, Mike Ruder, Mark (Kristen) Ruder, Jim Ruder, Jean (Mike) Ryan and David Ruder; ten grandchildren, Amy, Becky, Bob, John, and Jade Ruder, Derek and Sean Ryan, Kailey, Kenzie, and Jackson Ruder; step-sons, Jim Hayes and Jason (Lisa) Hayes; seven-step-grandchildren, Joe, Jim, Justice, Jewel, Elin, Loddie, and Leasselle Hayes; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded by his brother, Charles Ruder; his sister, Kathleen Bourelle.
