Obituary of Margaret Ghilain

Margaret I. Ghilain "Bid" Age 92, late of Crest Hill, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Provena Villa Franciscan. Born August 13, 1918 in Oglesby, IL to Alexander and Margaret (nee Dunn) Easton, she was raised in Joliet, and was a graduate of Joliet Township Central High School. She was employed by District #86 for 38 years, serving at Hufford Junior High and Taft Elementary School, retiring at age 87. Margaret was also a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was the beloved mother of Judith (John) Lapikas, Jane (Paul) Holmes, and Wayne (Janet) Ghilain; loving grandmother of Jeffrey (Deena) Lapikas, David (Jenny) Holmes, Brian (Sherry) Holmes, and Timothy Ghilain; proud great-grandmother of Bobby, Troy, Dalton and Tyler Lapikas; Kyle, Matthew and Hayley Holmes; and Jessica Spires. Preceded in death by her husband Russell and her parents. Margaret's family will always be grateful to the staff of the Inn at Willow Falls for the wonderful care and friendship Mom enjoyed for the past 14 months. The Ghilain's will also remember Dr. Magdziars and Sonny of the emrgency room at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center for their compassion shown to "Bid" and her family. Funeral Services for Margaret I. Ghilain were held on Friday, March 4, 2011. Interment took place at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace United Methodist Church would be appreciated. FRED C.
