Obituary of Ann Marie Buldak

Ann Marie Buldak
(nee Pillar)

Ann Marie Buldak, passed away peacefully at the age of 92, on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.  Ann was born on April 3, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (nee Leginus) Pillar.  Born and raised in Joliet, IL, she was a graduate of Ss Cyril & Methodius Grade School and Providence Catholic High School. Ann was a very devout Catholic and a long-time parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s 55 Club and St. Paul’s Paulites.  She was also very proud of her Slovak heritage.  She would say she was blessed with all of her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.  During the holidays, she enjoyed baking potica and roshkies.  In her free time, Ann enjoyed gardening, bird watching, volunteering and making rosaries with the residents at Our Lady of Angels, and volunteering at Sunny Hill Nursing Home.

Ann is survived by her son, David (Ann) Buldak of New Lenox; four grandchildren, Kevin (Ashley) Buldak of Bloomington, and Allison, Meredith, and Paul Buldak all of New Lenox; one great-grandson, Elliot Patrick Buldak; her sister, Dorothy (the late Harry) Magolan of Crest Hill; and her dear friends, Dorothy Pazely and Pam (the late Tom) Geary.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Buldak; her parents; her sisters, Clementine (John) Vasilovcik and Mary (Victor) Skorupa; brother, John Pillar; nephew, John Vasilovcik; her husband’s parents, Lawrence and Lottie Buldak; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
