John Frank Hence Jr.          

Age 68, of Joliet, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020, at Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center from complications of ALS and Covid-19.  A resident of Joliet, John was formerly employed as a shoe store salesman at the old Woodfield Mall, Kmart in Illinois and Michigan, Value City in Michigan, and Deals in Lockport until his retirement.  He loved all sports, “go Cubbies!”  John especially enjoyed watching and coaching his boy’s baseball teams from the ages of 4-16 years old.  He loved building model cars, planes, and boats.  John was an outdoorsman and thoroughly enjoyed gardening and taking care of his animals, Shadow, Rigs, and Sassy Girl.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Debbie Hence; his children, Jennifer (Craig) Hurwitz, Angela (Ryan) Connelly, David (Michele) Hence, Kevin (fiancé, Allie Schneider) Hence, Kyle (Zulema Masters) Hence and Tara Turner; ten grandchildren; his brother, Thomas (Debbie) Hence; his sister, Janie Rigor White (Wayne) Blanton.

Preceded by his father, John Frank Hence Sr.; mother, Ila Fayne Rigor; his brother, Ron Hence.

Visitation for John will be Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd.
