Obituary of Arlene Elberson
Arlene Elberson, age 75, of Morris, IL, and formerly Olympia Fields and Matteson, IL, passed away Wednesday morning, December 9, 2020, at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 9, 1945, to the late Barbara Wiles and James Peterson in Rome, New York. Arlene graduated in 1963 from Homewood-Flossmoor High School a member of the first graduating class.
Beloved wife of 54 years to Kenneth Elberson; loving mother of Glen (Kendy) Elberson and the late Dawn Elberson (2001); proud and devoted grandmother of Alyssa Elberson and Kayla Palatine.
Arlene was a private secretary for a Standard Oil executive in the finance department in Chicago from 1960-1970. She became a mother and full-time housewife in 1971. In 1982 she became the assistant marketing director of Lincoln Mall in Matteson, IL. and in 2000, she was appointed the marketing director until she retired in 2004. Arlene started working part-time as a groundskeeper at the Nettle Creek Country Club in Morris in 2010 and later on, started working full time in the pro shop, retiring when the course was sold.
Visitation for Arlene will be Thursday, December 17, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris. Facemasks are required and social distancing will be observed. Interment will be private at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, IL.
