Marjorie M. Skolos
Nee Masted
Age 76, a longtime Joliet, IL resident passed away peacefully Tuesday December 15, 2020.
She was born August 25, 1944 in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Dorothy (nee Wolford) and Reverend Julius Masted. Her relationship with her Lord and Savior remained very strong throughout her life as she served St. John Lutheran Church in Joliet as a faithful member forging wonderful relationships with those of all ages.
She is the beloved wife of the late Larry Skolos; Loving mother of Mike Skolos and the late Rich Skolos; dearest grandmother of Lindsay Skolos and Josh Burchardt; great-grandmother of Bailey, Ryleigh and Leah; fond Godmother of Sarah Jandejska; dear sister of Rev. Fred Masted. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her husband and son, Marjorie is also preceded in death by her brother, Louis “Buzz” Masted and daughter-in-law, Bridget Skolos.
Marjorie possessed the “gift of gab” which endeared her to many. She loved people and helping out whenever she could. She also enjoyed doing puzzles on-line and cozying up to watch her favorite shows on TV.
As it was Marjorie’s wish cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday December 27, 2020 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. In accordance with the Illinois guidelines, a 10 person capacity will be followed. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
At a time when we can all gather safely, a Celebration of Marjorie’s life and Memorial Service will take place at St. John Lutheran Church in Joliet.
