Obituary of Kenneth Lamont Webb

Kenneth Lamont Webb, age 71, of Crest Hill, IL, born in Thomaston GA, passed away December 21, 2020.

Ken was raised in Florida and as a youth, he was successful on the Wrestling and Football teams of Merritt Island High School.  Ken volunteered for The United States Air Force in April 1969 where he was quickly promoted to Staff Sergeant. This tour lasted until Feb. 1973. He reenlisted from January 1975 – April 1977.  Ken loved this country very much and was a true patriot.

After his military service, he went to work in the telecommunications field for Rockwell International which later became Alcatel Lucent. He was in this field for 20 years and was Regional Manager at the time of his retirement. He opened and ran two successful businesses in the past 20 years: Kwebb Realty and Acme Heating and Air.

Ken was highly intelligent and this earned him the position as the “go-to guy” for many people. During his life, he helped a lot of people. He gave people opportunities to work as well as helping people down on their luck who would’ve had no heat in the winter, and so much more.  He was generous, compassionate, and had a great sense of humor. He loved Sci-Fi where he could imagine trekking through the galaxy.  One of his favorite things to do was to watch the babies and dogs on AFV. He had great joy in music and wrote songs as well as poetry. He enjoyed rehabbing old houses.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Annie P. McCarty Webb and Ramon B. Webb. Also passed are brothers Karl Steven and Daryl Webb, as well as grandson Michael Tylor Raven Webb.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Tamera Webb; daughter, Kelly Casey, and sons, Jason, and Justin Webb; grandchildren, Alyssa Marrero, Steven, Josh, Xander, and Jacob Casey. As well as Rose Webb and Jackson Fuller; great-grandchild, Emma Marrero. Ken also has two surviving sisters, Patricia Boone and Cheryl Ann; many nieces and nephews, and a dear cousin, Josephine (Christine) Burrow
