Obituary of William Peter Wirth

William Peter “Bill” Wirth passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Wirth (Carey); his brothers, Robert (Mary Frances), John, and Joseph (Mary Ellen) Wirth; his sisters, Mary Jean Wirth (Dennis Evans) and Carol (William) Knoch. He is also survived by his aunts, many nieces and great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his loving father, Robert G. Wirth (2019); his paternal grandparents, Herman and Josephine Wirth, his maternal grandparents Willard and Alma Carey along with numerous loving aunts and uncles.

Bill was born on January 26, 1952 in Joliet, Illinois and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of St. Paul the Apostle Grade School, Joliet West High School and Northern Illinois University. He was an avid student of history and loved reading. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He spent his career working for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as a Conductor and a Yard Foreman retiring in 2014 at the age of 62.
