Obituary of William F. Miller

William F. Miller, age 91, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at home, with his loving family by his side.

Born June 24, 1929 in Joliet, he was the son of William and Emma (Murphy) Miller.  He married the love of his life, the former Vera Dalton, and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage.

Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War and attaining the rank of Corporal.  He owned and operated Miller’s Ace Hardware in Lockport, IL, for many years.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, he cherished time spent with family.  He especially enjoyed get-togethers with the family and family trips “up north.”

Surviving are his wife, Vera; his children, Nancy (Ken) Wruk, Peggy (the late Kevin) Worland, William (Peg) Miller, Kathleen (Tony) Medved, Patricia (Robert) Drysch and Ann (Christopher) Patti; his grandchildren, Katie Wruk, Colleen (Matt) Clementi, Mark (Nicole) Miller, Sarah Miller, Mallory (Kevin) Whaley, Tony (Rian) Medved, Matthew Drysch, Ryan Drysch, Connor Patti and Catherine Patti; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean (Raymond) Darin; two sisters-in-law, Jyme Miller and Carole Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, James Miller and Robert Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial for William F. Miller will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 710 W. Marion Street, Joliet.  Cremation rites have been accorded and interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be private.
