Obituary of John Gismondi

John J. Gismondi Age 82, late of Joliet and formerly of Hammond, IN, died peacefully Sunday, October 7, 2007. Born in Duluth, MN on October 23, 1924 to the late Dominic and Regina Gismondi. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Beloved husband of 59 years to Elsie (nee Di Cicco); loving father of Ann (LeRoy) Ferry, Regina (Jack) Markase, Joan (Mike) Parenty and Julie Greenfield; proud grandpa of seven; dear great-grandpa of five; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his loving granddaughter, Melissa; siblings, Nina (late Ted) Pallot, Mary (late George) Ganz, Geraldine Gismondi, Dominic Jr. (Irene), and Deonesto. He was the beloved son-in-law of the late Joseph and Anna Di Cicco. Visitation Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from 2-9 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, IL. Prayers Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the American Cancer Society. FRED C.
