Robert Leon “Bob” Schultz, age 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, December 31, 2020, at the Gardens at Park Pointe in Morris.

He had been very happy since moving from Joliet to the Gardens. He loved all who worked there, he couldn’t say enough about his care by the nurses, aids, therapists, and the food. He stated, “I couldn’t have been treated better”.

Bob was educated in Dietrich, IL, graduating from Dietrich High School, Class of 1957. Bob was in the National Guard. He moved to Joliet, married his high school sweetheart, Bertha Mary Todd, on December 18, 1960, who preceded him in death in 2005. Bob worked at Ceco Steel, Thomas Steel, and lastly at Empress Casino in Joliet.

Survived by his two children, Richard Kevin Schultz of Chicago and Dawn Marie Schultz of West Palm Beach, FL and a very special granddaughter, Jayme Nicole Autumn Rieuf of West Palm Beach, FL; his brother, Ray (Elizabeth) Schultz of Dietrich; sister, Shirley Schultz of Inverness, FL; sister-in-law, Anita L. Schultz of Morris; two nephews, Dr. Gary (Gina) Schultz of Camas, WA and David (Tina) Schultz of Minooka and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by a dear brother and sister-in-law, Walter Lee and Judith Ann Schultz of Minooka and a grandson, Eric David Miller of Joliet; two sisters, Eileen Grace Schultz, Betty Ruth Schmidt, and brother-in-law, Darrell.
