Jackie Jennings

Obituary of Jackie Jennings

Jackie Jennings (nee Bockman), age 55, of Morris, IL passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, January 4, 2021, at her home with her husband, daughter, and sister by her side.  She was born on June 20, 1965, at St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, and is the daughter of Linda and Richard Bockman.  Raised in Channahon, IL, Jackie graduated from Minooka High School and earned a degree from Southern Illinois University.  In 1985, she married her high school sweetheart Jim, and they built a home in Morris where they lived and raised their daughter for the past 35 years.  Jackie Co-owned and managed Ace Storage in Morris for the past 15 years.  She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Seneca.

Jackie is the proud mother and best friend of Jessica Holman (nee Jennings) of Morris and they were as close as any mother-daughter could be.  She was the proud grandmother of twins, Camden and Teagan that she loved to play games with and spoil as often as she could.  They would light up with a cheer of “Grama Jackie” whenever they saw her.  She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them and watching them grow.

Her family was everything to her.  She enjoyed every minute she spent with them.  She always looked forward to playing games or cards when the family got together.  She also loved her trivia nights.  But, her favorite place to be was with her loving husband, Jim.

The family cabin in St. Germain, Wisconsin was her home away from home.  Whether it be a quiet visit with her beloved husband or a cabin full of family, she cherished every trip there.

Shopping was one of her favorite hobbies.  Going shopping with her friends or daughter was especially fun for her.  Crafting was another one of her hobbies, whether it be scrapbooking or making creative gifts with her cricut, she was always making gifts for others or decorations for her home.  She enjoyed being the hostess when friends and family came to the house.  She was a great cook and enjoyed feeding everyone.  No one ever left hungry.

She loved the years of watching her daughter play softball and she cherished all the friends she made in the stands.  With her warm spirit and friendly smile, she easily made many friends through the years.

Being a strong woman, she was always more worried about everyone else.  That was never more apparent than the last three years as she battled cancer.  To the end, she never let her pain or illness show to anyone and was more concerned about their wellbeing.  She will be dearly missed.

Jackie is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; daughter, Jessica (Justin) Holman; father, Richard Bockman; sister, Terri (Bill) Kelly; grandchildren Teagan Holman and Camden Holman.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Linda Bockman.
